Video Based ITIL Training - What To Expect

If you have made the decision to take a video based ITIL training course, then you can expect the best of both worlds - provided of course that you select a provider that delivers accredited courses.

Video based training programs offer you the ability to follow along the course with an actual (pre-recorded) instructor explaining the concepts. You can of course, pause, rewind and play again - not so easy to do in the classroom environment!!

You should also find that depending on the option you have purchased there will be a student workbook available to you. The workbook gives you a traditional style manual to study and it will complement the video training course that you have access to.

With video based ITIL training once you login to the content area you will see a table of contents style arrangement. This means that you can actually choose the order that you study the various course modules. Like reading a good book though it is recommended to start at the beginning!!

Video based ITIL Training is delivered following a logical flow. The benefit of this format is that the course has been "constructed" for you and therefore there is no chance that any element of the required syllabus has been missed. Modules are pre-recorded and they are checked for accuracy and completeness. If it is felt that a concept was not explained correctly, the module element is re-recorded.

When you start to work your way through this online video training you will see a progress indicator against each module. The progress indicator is an excellent visual prompt as to how far you have travelled and how far you still have to go in your selected course.

With your online training course as well you will want to see that the developers have used a colour scheme that will be comfortable for several hours of continued study. Look for softer colors, an intuitive layout and control buttons that are easily identifiable. Your focus needs to be on the content, not trying to work out how to navigate your course.

Video based training courses are certainly a major step forward for those of you who want or have a need to study remotely and in there own time. The advances in network bandwidth and data compression mean that such online courses are available to the vast majority of people that have any form of Internet access.
